Members of the Endicott College football team volunteered at the North Shore United Way’s “Match” Madness event held on March 6th in Beverly, Mass. 16 members of the football program spent Saturday afternoon selling raffle tickets and being active participants in helping raise over $650. The New England Football Conference announced its annual NEFC Academic All-Conference team this week, and Endicott College had 24 student-athletes earn recognition. The Gulls’ total was second highest in the league, trailing only Salve Regina’s 25 representatives. To qualify for the team, a player must have completed three semesters at the same institution and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (based on a 4.0 scale). Sophomore Kevin Eagan (West Hartford, Conn.) has been named a 2009 ECAC Division III Northeast All-Star, as announced by conference communications assistant Amanda Piccirilli on Thursday. The ECAC will honor the players and rookies of the year in each division and region in February at the annual Eastern College Football Awards Banquet presented by FieldTurf, an event held in the Pegasus Restaurant at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, N.J. Sophomore standout Kevin Eagan (West Hartford, Conn.) has been named to the 2009 New England Football Writers’ Division II/III All-New England team, as announced by NEFW Selection Committee Chair Roger Crosley.
