Members of the Endicott College football team volunteered at the North Shore United Way’s “Match” Madness event held on March 6th in Beverly, Mass. 16 members of the football program spent Saturday afternoon selling raffle tickets and being active participants in helping raise over $650.

The New England Football Conference announced its annual NEFC Academic All-Conference team this week, and Endicott College had 24 student-athletes earn recognition. The Gulls’ total was second highest in the league, trailing only Salve Regina’s 25 representatives. To qualify for the team, a player must have completed three semesters at the same institution and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (based on a 4.0 scale). In total, 254 student-athletes were honored.

Sophomore Kevin Eagan (West Hartford, Conn.) has been named a 2009 ECAC Division III Northeast All-Star, as announced by conference communications assistant Amanda Piccirilli on Thursday. The ECAC will honor the players and rookies of the year in each division and region in February at the annual Eastern College Football Awards Banquet presented by FieldTurf, an event held in the Pegasus Restaurant at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, N.J.

Sophomore standout Kevin Eagan (West Hartford, Conn.) has been named to the 2009 New England Football Writers’ Division II/III All-New England team, as announced by NEFW Selection Committee Chair Roger Crosley. Thirty-one players representing 20 different institutions were awarded the regional honor.

Seven Endicott College football players were named to the 2009 New England Football Conference All-Division First and Second Teams, as announced by the NEFC offices on Monday morning. The Gulls had four First Team selections as well as three Second Team honorees.

Endicott College held MIT to just 107 yards of total offense as the Gulls took down the Engineers, 27-15, in a New England Football Conference Boyd Division game on Saturday evening in Beverly, Mass. The Gulls, who celebrated their annual Senior Night tradition on Saturday, close out the season at 5-5 overall (3-4 Boyd), while MIT ends its campaign at 1-8 (1-6 Boyd).

Western New England quarterback Justin Walz (Groton, Conn.) threw two touchdown passes and ran for two additional scores, including a game-winning 24 yard scamper late in the fourth quarter to lift the Golden Bears to a 26-21 win over host Endicott College on Saturday afternoon in Beverly, Mass. The win improves WNEC to 4-4 overall and 3-2 in the NEFC Boyd division. Endicott slips to 3-5 and 1-4 in league play.

Plymouth State junior quarterback J.J. Brooks (Seabrook, N.H.) ran for a touchdown with 1:27 remaining in the fourth quarter Saturday afternoon, capping a 21-point rally as Plymouth State University came from behind to defeat Endicott College, 31-28, in a New England Football Conference Boyd Division contest at Currier Field.
