2/23/10 - Men's Basketball
The top-seeded Gordon College men’s basketball team rolled to a 73-52 win over local rival Endicott before a packed house in the Bennett Center on Tuesday evening in Wenham, Mass. The win was the 18th in 19 games for the Fighting Scots and they will move on to face Colby-Sawyer in The Commonwealth Coast Conference semifinals on Thursday night. Endicott concludes its season with a 12-13 mark.

Endicott’s Graham Whitelaw (Kennebunk, Maine) and Lance Greene (Dorchester, Mass.) have both been to The Commonwealth Coast Conference All-Third Team, as announced by Conference Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Tuesday. Voting for the All-TCCC team and each of the major awards was conducted among the league’s men’s basketball coaches.

Curry sophomore guard Jarrell Jackson (Brockton, Mass.) scored a career-high 32 points, leading Curry College past Endicott, 86-77, in the regular-season finale for both squads Saturday afternoon in Milton. The Colonels improve to 13-12 overall and 10-3 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC), while the Gulls fall to 12-12 overall and 7-6 in TCCC play.

Endicott College senior Graham Whitelaw (Kennebunk, Maine) scored 10 points en route to becoming the ninth player in program history to score 1,000 points in his career as the Gulls defeated visiting New England College, 73-60, on Wednesday night in The Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s basketball action. With the win, Endicott improves to 12-11 overall and 7-5 in the TCCC while the Pilgrims fall to 6-18 overall and 1-11 in league games.

Endicott sophomore Aaron Karkow (Uncasville, Conn.) scored a season-high 23 points while senior Graham Whitelaw (Kennebunk, Maine) added 19 to help lead the Gulls past Salve Regina, 83-65, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference men’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon in Beverly, Mass. The win evens the Gulls to 11-11 overall and 6-5 in league play, while the Seahawks dip to 4-19 and 3-8 in the TCCC.

Endicott College freshman Lance Greene (Dorchester, Mass.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference’s Co-Rookie of the Week this week as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye. Greene helped lead the Gulls to a pair of important conference victories last week and improve to 10-10 overall and 5-4 in league play.
