The defending The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) champions and preseason favorites Endicott Gulls women’s soccer team returned to the pitch for their season opener against Salem State University. The Blue and Green battled through two overtimes with the Vikings and the match ended in a 1-1 draw. The Endicott women’s soccer team was voted as the preseason favorite to take The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) title in poll conducted by conference coaches.  The Gulls earned 195 votes and 13 first place votes, finishing ahead of Roger Williams and University of New England. Endicott College’s Caitlin Flynn (Southold, N.Y.) and Caitlin Peters (Salem, N.H.) have been named to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region Team as announced by the NSCAA offices earlier this week. Flynn was named to the First Team while Peters, in her first collegiate season, was named to the Third Team. Read Full Release

The Endicott College women’s soccer team had four players named to the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association’s All-New England team(s), as announced on Wednesday. The Gulls’ Caitlin Flynn (Southold, N.Y.) and Caitlin Peters (Salem, N.H.) were named First Team selections, while Amy Meuse (Saugus, Mass.) and Kayla Plante (Sanford, Maine) were honored with Second and Third team honors, respectively. The ECAC has announced its 2009 Division III New England Women’s Soccer All-Stars and Endicott’s Caitlin Flynn (Southold, N.Y.) and Caitlin Peters (Salem, N.H.) have each earned Second Team recognition. The ECAC honored 22 players from 17 different institutions in its annual All-Star selections.

Endicott College rallied from a one-goal second half deficit to knock off SUNY Geneseo in penalty kicks in an opening round NCAA Tournament game held on the campus of top-ranked Messiah College in Grantham, Pa. on Saturday night. The two teams battled to a 1-1 draw before the Gulls posted a 6-5 victory in PK’s.

Endicott’s Colleen Pepin (Fairhaven, Mass.) scored a pair of goals while TCCC Player of the Year Caitlin Flynn (Southold, N.Y.) added a goal and an assist as the Gulls downed Western New England College, 3-1, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference finals on Saturday afternoon in Beverly, Mass. The championship is the Gulls’ sixth in seven years and guarantees the Blue and Green a ticket to the NCAA Tournament for a seventh-straight season.

Endicott sophomore forward Colleen Pepin (Fairhaven, Mass.) netted The Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week award, as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday. Pepin and the Gulls posted a 6-0 win over Anna Maria and a 3-0 quarterfinal victory over Nichols last week.
