11/13/09 - Women's Volleyball
Endicott College’s Steph Wiese (Higganum, Conn.) has been selected to the New England Women’s Volleyball Association’s Senior Classic to be held on Sunday on the campus of UMass-Boston. Coaches nominate and vote and the top 25 are invited to participate in a skills competition at 10:30 a.m. and then a match to follow at 1:00 p.m.

Fourth-seeded Western New England College posted a 3-1 victory over fifth-seeded Endicott in a quarterfinal round match of the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Women's Volleyball Championship Wednesday evening. The Gulls wrap up their 2009 season at 19-17.

Endicott College has been awarded the No. 5 seed in the upcoming ECAC Tournament and will meet fourth-seeded Western New England College on Wednesday evening in Springfield, Mass. The Gulls defeated the Golden Bears in the two teams’ only meeting of the season on September 19th by the score of 3-2.

11/5/09 - Women's Volleyball
The top-seeded Endicott women’s volleyball team lost just one TCCC match all season long, a 3-0 setback to Roger Williams University back on September 19th. On Thursday night the Hawks proved the early season victory was no fluke, as fourth-seeded RWU pulled the upset and knocked off the three-time defending TCCC Champion Gulls in a 3-0 sweep in Beverly, Mass. Roger Williams used set scores of 25-22, 25-22 and 25-20 to improve its record to 20-10 and advance to Saturday’s conference final.

Endicott’s Elyse Barbour (Greenville, R.I.) had eight kills on just 11 swings with no errors (.727) as the Gulls cruised past visiting Regis College, 3-0, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference quarterfinals on Tuesday night in Beverly, Mass. Endicott posted set scores of 25-15, 25-11 and 25-14 to advance to Thursday’s semifinals against Roger Williams University, who defeated the Univ. of New England by the score of 3-0.

Endicott’s Steph Wiese (Higganum, Conn.) has been named The Commonwealth Coast Conference Player of the Week, while freshman Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) has been awarded TCCC Libero and Rookie of the Week honors, as announced by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday. The pair combined to help the Gulls post a 3-0 record last week to secure the No. 1 overall seed in the upcoming TCCC postseason.

The Endicott College women’s volleyball team posted impressive victories over Salve Regina University and Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoon in Newport, R.I. The Gulls improve to 18-15 overall and 9-1 in the TCCC with the 3-1 victory over the Seahawks followed by a 3-0 win over the Chargers. Junior Brittany Phillips (Sudbury, Mass.) recorded 23 kills and 25 digs in the wins.

The Commonwealth Coast Conference has named Endicott freshman Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) as the TCCC Rookie of the Week after a standout week last for the Blue and Green. Norley averaged 4.64 digs per set over 14 sets for the Gulls against tough regional competition.
