    • Two-time Defensive Player of the Year Peters leads five Gulls on All-CCC Team

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – For the second season in-a-row, Endicott senior defender Caitlin Peters (Salem, N.H.) was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Year, leading a group of five standout Gulls who made the All-CCC Team for their efforts during the regular season this fall.

    2012 All-CCC Women's Soccer Team

    SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – For the second season in-a-row, Endicott senior defender Caitlin Peters (Salem, N.H.) was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Year, leading a group of five standout Gulls who made the All-CCC Team for their efforts during the regular season this fall.

    Peters collected her second Defensive Player of the Year award and for the third time in her career was recognized as a First Team Defender.  Peters headlined a Gulls backfield that sported a 0.59 goals against average in 18 overall matches and a miniscule 0.32 goals against average in nine league matches.  In those CCC matches, Peters, along with fellow All-CCC honorees seniors Christine Silva (Second Team) and Lauren Todd (Honorable Mention), allowed just three goals on 19 shots on net. 

    Offensively, Peters scored one goal, the game-winner against Nichols on October 17th.  Silva had more of an offensive impact, scoring a goal while assisting on two more for four total points.  Silva scored a game-winning tally in a stunning 1-0 overtime win over Curry back on October 6th. Silva earned an Honorable Mention nod back in 2011 while Todd is a first-time winner.

    Joining Peters on the All-CCC First Team is senior forward Vanessa Caruccio (Winthrop, Mass.) who paced the Blue and Green with 16 points on seven goals and two assists.  Her point and goal totals were both career-highs.  She was tied for fifth in the conference in goals and ranked seventh in points.  Her lone game-winning tally came on September 28th as Endicott beat the University of New England 2-0 at home.  This is Caruccio's first All-CCC award of her career.

    For the second straight year, senior midfielder Chelsea Garlock (Meriden, Conn.) appears on the All-CCC Second Team after netting five goals for the Gulls.  Garlock's five goals placed her second on the team and tied for 10th in the CCC.  Four of her five goals came against non-conference competition in Plymouth State, Husson, Wellesley, and Salem State. 

    Endicott earned the #3 seed in the CCC Tournament after going 11-5-2 (7-1-1 CCC) and are matched up against #6 Wentworth in the quarterfinals on Saturday, October 27th.
