Women's volleyball sweeps Eastern Nazarene 3-0 at home

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women’s
volleyball team improved to 2-0 in CCC play with a straight set,
3-0 (25-15, 25-10, 25-14) win over Eastern Nazarene on Wednesday
evening. The Gulls improved to 7-9 overall while the Lions
dropped to 7-8 (1-2 CCC).
Endicott used a strong setting performance by senior captain Sarah
Allshouse (Berthoud, Colo.) and a trio of attacker with nine kills
each to take down Eastern Nazarene. Senior Elyse Barbour
(Greenville, R.I.), junior Falyn Torelli (Pelham, N.Y.) and
freshman Alexandra Gearin (Los Angeles, Calif.) all tied for a
match-high nine kills.
Barbour and Torelli registered only one error each, part of an
efficient offensive night for the Gulls who sported a .300 hit
percentage against the Lions.
Eastern Nazarene’s setter, freshman Birdina Tuiava (Colorado
Springs, Colo.) had 11 assists and seven digs to lead her
team. She also tied Kaitlyn Yoder (Smithsburg, Md.) and
Kortney Jenkins (Bunker Hill, W. Va.) with a team-high three
kills.
Defensively for the Lions, freshman libero Kori Sorensen (Quincy,
Mass.) matched Tuiava with seven digs while fellow freshman Gina
Anderson (Barrington, R.I.) chipped in with six digs.
For the Gulls, Allshouse led the Blue and Green with 10 digs while
libero Ashley Norley (Sudbury, Mass.) added nine digs to
Endicott’s defensive efforts.
Endicott also saw Callie Dolan (Westford, Mass.) and Hannah
Dahlgren (Queensbury, N.Y.) contribute with four and three kills,
respectively.
Endicott hosts CCC rival Western New England on Saturday, October
1st at 1:00 pm in MacDonald Gymnasium while Eastern
Nazarene welcomes Wentworth for a 1:00 pm conference match on the
same day.
