Alexandra Gearin wins her second CCC Rookie of the Week award

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – First year women’s volleyball outside hitter Alexandra Gearin (Los Angeles, Calif.) earned her second CCC Rookie of the Week award as she helped lead her Gulls squad to a 2-0 record against conference opponents.
Gearin averaged 3.33 kills, 2.17 digs, and 1.67 aces per set as Endicott won in straight sets over both Eastern Nazarene and Western New England to improve to 8-9 (3-0 CCC).
Last Wednesday against Eastern Nazarene, Gearin struck nine kills, served up six aces, and had six digs in a 3-0 win over the Lions. Her nine kills tied two other Gulls players for a match-high. Three days later, the outside hitter stood alone as the leader in kills with 11 against Western New England. In Endicott’s 3-0 sweep over the Golden Bears, Gearin added seven digs, four aces and a block assist.
Gearin is ranked first on the team in kills per set (2.82), second in kills (141), third in aces (20), and fourth in digs (123).
Gearin and the Gulls host Colby-Sawyer tonight at 7:00 pm in MacDonald Gymnasium before taking on the \#1 ranked team in New England, UMass Boston, on Thursday.
