Both Filonow and Toland have excelled in the classroom, highlighted by their New England Football Conference (NEFC) Academic All-Conference selections last fall. Both student-athletes also carry a cumulative grade point average over 3.30 headed into next year, and are heavily involved in the program's year-round community service efforts.
Athletically, Toland was named to the NEFC All-Conference Second Team as a tackle last season, while Filonow finished fourth on the team in tackles in 2016 with 41 total, and second in tackles per game (6.8).
