Nick Weinstein Named Men’s Soccer CCC Defensive Player of the Week

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott junior goalkeeper Nick Weinstein (Trumbull, Conn.) has earned Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Defensive Player of the Week honors for his play in the Gulls' two games this past weekend against No. 6/16 nationally-ranked Calvin College and Utica College in the North Shore Invitational.

Weinstein has allowed just one goal in 200 minutes of play, good for a 0.45 goals against average, holding Calvin College scoreless in a double-overtime 0-0 draw to post his first shutout and made five saves in the match. In two matches, he has made six saves and earned his first collegiate win in the team's 3-1 victory over Utica on Saturday.

Junior goalkeeper Dan Johnson (Curry College), junior goalkeeper Elijah Leverett (UNE) and sophomore back Michael Zendan (Wentworth) were the other nominees up for this award.

Endicott (1-0-1) hosts No. 1 nationally-ranked Tufts University today for a non-conference matchup at 7:00 p.m.
