BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Endicott men's cross country team concluded its 2018 season with a 39th place finish out of 58 teams at the NCAA Division III Regionals on Saturday afternoon at Bowdoin College.
Amherst won the meet with 65 points, while Williams (86), Middlebury (142), MIT (145), and Tufts (160) rounded out the top-5 in respective order.
For Endicott, junior Joshua Knight (Oxted, England) led the Gulls with a time of 28:45.22, which was good for a 201st place finish on the 8-kilometer course. Knight was followed by Adam Germaine (Guilford, Conn.) who crossed the line in 29:01.93 (221st) and Jack McGuire (Hopkinton, Mass) - 246th place/29:38.91.
Meanwhile, Zachary Heffernan (Biddeford, Maine), Samuel Page (Plainville, Mass), and Tyler Thornton (Reading, Mass) made up the remainder of Endicott's top-6 runners with times of 29:51.70 (256th), 29:57.59 (262nd), and 31:43.16 (317th), in respective order.
"The men gave everything they had today," said Endicott men's cross country coach Spencer Lange. "They paved the way for the future of this young team. With five of the six we had at regionals returning next year, they're excited for what these experiences can help them achieve going forward. Sam and Zack both ran personal bests to step up and help the team when it counted."
