Gulls Fall to Roger Williams in Regular Season Finale
BRISTOL, R.I. – The Endicott softball team traveled to Roger Williams on Friday afternoon a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) matchup and regular season finale. Today’s game was a continuation from the doubleheader at Roger Williams on April 3rd. The game was picked up in the top of the second and despite four different Gulls earning RBI’s the Hawks pulled away with the 11-5 victory. Endicott falls to 15-17 (11-5 CCC) while Roger Williams sits at 11-15 (7-8 CCC).

Today's game was a continuation from the doubleheader at Roger Williams on April 3rd. The game was picked up in the top of the second and despite four different Gulls earning RBI's the Hawks pulled away with the 11-5 victory. Endicott falls to 15-17 (11-5 CCC) while Roger Williams sits at 11-15 (7-8 CCC).
Following the conclusion of the game, Endicott secured the #3 seed in the tournament with the Hawks notching the #5 slot. The Gulls will see action on Monday, April 27th to play the winner of Nichols at University of New England at Salve Regina.
Three different pitchers saw time in the circle for the Gulls combining for six innings. Sophomore Leigh Wyman (South Freeport, Maine) started for the Gulls pitching four innings while allowing four hits. Senior Meg Donegan (Atkinson, N.H.) came in on the relief and took the loss (1-3) while freshman Mikaela Mallozzi (Shelton, Mass.) also saw time.
Offensively, junior Emily Hoffman (Malden, Mass.), sophomore Chrissy Gikas (Danvers, Mass.), and freshman duo Casie Beauchemin (Lincoln, R.I.) and Stephanie Cameron (Milford, Conn.) all recorded an RBI in the tough loss.
In the original meeting before the game was suspended due to weather the Hawks took the early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first as junior Chelsea Boulrisse (Bourne, Mass.) crossed home plate off a pass ball for an unearned run.
As the game continued today, the Blue and Green quickly tied the game up in the top of the second as Cameron singled up the middle to send sophomore Hannah Graney (Acton, Mass.) home from second base.
After a scoreless bottom of the second for the Hawks, the Gulls added four runs in the top of the third to take the 5-1 lead. In the inning Hoffman started off with her first triple of the season to right center to send sophomore Julia McNeill (Hauppauge, N.Y.) home from third for the lead. Graney would follow with a double to right center to send Hoffman across home plate. Beauchemin would then single through the left side for the RBI on Graney. Gikas would close out the inning as she bunted for a single for the four-run lead as Beauchemin headed home.
The runs would be the last for the Gulls as the Hawks responded in the bottom of the third adding two runs to get back within two. They would then tie the game in the bottom of the fourth off a two-run homer from junior Taylor Messier (Cranston, R.I.). The Hawks would go on to secure the victory with two runs on the fifth, and four in the sixth for the 11-5 triumph.
