Beverly, MA-- Endicott defeated cross-town rival Salem State College 3-0 to kick off their New England schedule. The Gulls relied on strong serving and a varied offense to keep the Vikings off balance. EC never trailed in the match and the final game scores were 30-22, 30-21 and 30-16.
Morgan Tranquist led the team with 9 kills and 4 aces and was followed closely by Killeen Ross' 8 kills while both players hit over .430 for the match. Meghan Hall ran the offense handing out 27 assists, while serving 4 aces and Katie Lorinovich led the team with 11 digs. Krystan Sylva and Kristen Altieri also contributed some strong defense and Patty Mikan contributed 4 kills to the effort in her first action of the year after returning from an ankle injury.
The Gulls will return to action this weekend in a trimatch at Clark University. EC will play Brandeis University at 1 PM and then Clark at 3 PM.
