BOSTON, Mass. — The Endicott women's volleyball team defeated Simmons (3-1) and Emerson (3-1) on Saturday evening at the Bobbi Brown and Steven Plofker Gym.
ENDICOTT 3, SIMMONS 1 (23-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-10)
Hadley Helenbrook (Atlanta, Ga.) and Ava Grace Dresback (Pawcatuck, Conn.) powered the Gulls with a pair of double-doubles.
Helenbrook notched 20 kills (.349) and 15 digs, while Dresback compiled 18 putaways (.389) and 10 digs.
Stephanie Moreau (Methuen, Mass.) also posted 10 kills and tied for the match-high in block assists with three.
As a team, Endicott hit .320 in the matchup (57K-16E-128TA) thanks to an efficient performance from Hannah Maguire (San Jose, Calif.).
The sophomore setter dished out a match-high 49 assists on 107 attempts (.458).
Set one featured 13 ties and seven lead changes before the Gulls eventually pulled away from Simmons (S2: 9-4 | S3: 5-1 | S4: 0-0 | Ties: 27 | Lead Changes: 12).
ENDICOTT 3, EMERSON 1 (25-16, 25-19, 13-25, 25-17)
Helenbrook matched her kill total in the nightcap, recording 20 putaways on 41 swings (.293).
Dresback also contributed 12 kills and 12 digs, while Kelsey Sanborn (Londonderry, N.H.) tallied eight kills on 14 swings (.500) to highlight the attack.
Maguire was efficient running the offense yet again, setting up 44 kills on 101 attempts (.436).
Defensively, Emma Gulaskey (Miami Shores, Fla.) and Abby Downs (Billerica, Mass.) combined for 26 digs (14/12).
The second match of the day featured 13 ties (3-4-0-6) and five lead changes (2-1-0-2).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORES
- Head coach Emma Smallcomb earned the first collegiate win of her career in match one.
- Downs passed perfectly in match one, going 17-for-17 on serve-receive along with 13 digs.
- Gulaskey and Downs set career-highs for digs (14/13).
- The Gulls are 7-2 all-time against Emerson and 9-2 versus Simmons (nine straight wins).
