Men's and Women's Basketball Both Earn No. 4 Seed In Upcoming CCC Tournament

BEVERLY, Mass. - The Endicott men's and women's basketball teams will be hosting Gordon College and Curry College, respectively, on Tuesday, Feb. 23 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Quarterfinals.

BEVERLY, Mass.- The Endicott men’s basketball team will look to defend its 2014-15 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title beginning on Tuesday, February 23 at 5:30 p.m. as  No. 5 seeded Gordon (12-13, 9-9 CCC) comes to Beverly, Mass. to face the No. 4 seeded Gulls.

The Gulls (15-10 overall) earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament after posting a 12-6 record in CCC play and advanced to CCC Tournament for the 15th time in program history.

PREVIOUS MATCHUPS: The Gulls and Fighting Scots met twice in the regular season, as Endicott swept the season series by scores of 75-60 and 80-73 earlier this season. Endicott is 20-17 all-time against Gordon dating back to the 1996 season.

PLAYOFF HISTORY: Endicott and Gordon will meet in postseason play for the first time since a 73-52 Gulls' loss in Wenham, Mass. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 in the TCCC Quarterfinals.

POSTSEASON HISTORY: The Gulls have made the CCC Tournament in 14 seasons since joining the conference in 1999, with appearances in a conference championship in 8 of 21 seasons overall*. In 2014-15, the Gulls captured the program’s sixth CCC title with a 90-60 win over Wentworth to hoist their second trophy in the last four years and seventh overall. Second-year head coach Kevin Bettencourt has led the Gulls to a 38-16 overall record in his tenure and the team is hungry to repeat as CCC Champions. *includes 1998-99 GNAC Championship

BEVERLY, Mass.- The Endicott women’s basketball team will look to win its first-ever Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title beginning with a CCC Quarterfinal matchup No. 5 seeded Curry (12-13, 9-9 CCC) comes to Beverly, Mass. to face the No. 4 Gulls on Tuesday, February 23 at 7:30 p.m.

The Gulls (15-10 overall) earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament after posting a 13-5 record in CCC play and advanced to CCC Tournament for the 17th time in program history.

PREVIOUS MATCHUPS: The Gulls and Colonels met twice in the regular season, as Endicott swept the season series by scores of 77-62 and 65-42 earlier this season. Endicott is 22-6 all-time against Curry dating back prior to the 2002 season.

PLAYOFF HISTORY: Endicott and Curry will square off again in postseason play, as the Colonels defeated the Gulls, 66-49, in Milton, Mass. on Feb. 26, 2015 in the CCC Semifinals last season.

POSTSEASON HISTORY: The Gulls have made the CCC Tournament in every season since joining the conference in 1999, except the 2001-02season. Endicott has appeared in a conference championship in three of 22 seasons overall, including a 77-61 loss to Salve Regina in Coach Hutchinson’s first season at the helm. The Gulls fell in the Semifinals in each of the past three seasons, but won the 2013-14 ECAC Championship. Five-year head coach Brittany Hutchinson has led the Gulls to an 84-56 overall record in her tenure and the team is poised to make a run deep into the playoffs.

CURRY (12-13, 9-9 CCC) | SCHEDULE | STATISTICS: The Colonels are led in scoring by freshman guard Emily Irwin (Billerica, Mass.), graduate student guard Christina Deiorio (Stoughton, Mass.) and senior center Shannon Griffith (West Hartford, Conn.).
