Nathan Burnett was one of Endicott’s best and most versatile baseball players. He was a dominant pitcher, hitter and outfielder. As a power pitcher, he threw 209 career innings with a 2.93 ERA and became the career strikeout leader with 203. He also set the single-game strikeout record with 19 against Worcester State in 1999. His pitching performance (8 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 7 K) against New England’s number one team, Bridgewater State, in the 2000 NCAA Regional Tournament, solidified Endicott’s growing reputation as one of the region’s best programs. In addition, Nathan had a career batting average of .355 and finished fifth in the nation in triples in 1998. He was the GNAC Rookie of the Year in 1997, the GNAC Player of the Year in 1998 and All-CCC First Team in 2000.
