Parkinson came out on fire striking out the first four Charger hitters he faced and six of the first nine. Nicholas was just as sharp, facing the minimum through four while striking out two.
In the top of the fifth, Colby Sawyer mounted the first threat. Kevin Fleurie reached on an infield throwing error and then Nate Duncklee's sacrifice turned into runners on first and second on another throwing error. He induced and 6-2 out at homeplate with the infield in and got out of the inning with a fly out to center.

Parkinson got back on his game and got quick outs in the sixth and seventh to preserve the shutout and earn his second win of the season on a two hitter.
In game two, Matt Bishop picked up where Parkinson left off. Bishop struck out 11 including the side in the seventh to end the game. And after consecutive walks to Fields and Drake, Bishop picked up an RBI on his second hit of the game.
EC tacked on one each in the fifth and sixth. Pat Vincent singled and scored all the way from first on Fields' double in the right center gap. In fifth, Allain tripled and scored on Mark Vaughan's sharply hit sac fly.
