FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Junior reliever Nick Quattro (Canton, Conn.) has been recognized on the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week as the top player at his position in the country for the games of March 23rd-29th, 2015. Quattro was named CCC Pitcher of the Week on Monday for his efforts over 10 2/3 shutout innings in three relief appearances.
Endicott (8-6, 4-0 CCC) went 5-1 last week and Quattro recorded two of those pitching victories in a CCC doubleheader sweep over Eastern Nazarene on Friday. In game one, he pitched the final 2 2/3 innings with three strikeouts and one hit allowed to earn the win and in game two, which went 11 innings, Quattro lasted 6 2/3 innings of no-hit ball with nine strikeouts in a 1-0 triumph.
Earlier in the week, Quattro inherited runners in scoring position in a match up with #9/12 Southern Maine holding a 2-1 lead with no outs and was able to strand the go-ahead run.
In seven appearances this season, Quattro is 2-0 with a 1.76 ERA, a .120 batting average against, and 20 strikeouts over 15 1/3 innings.
