CCC CHAMPIONSHIP: No. 1 Endicott, Western New England Face Off Saturday At North Field

BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 1 nationally ranked and top-seeded Endicott baseball team (40-2) hosts fifth-seeded Western New England (24-19) on Saturday at noon in search of its third consecutive Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship.

Endicott will need to win one game to hoist the CCC Championship, while Western New England will need two victories to claim the league title.

Game one is scheduled for 12 PM. The if-necessary game would be played approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

• Endicott holds a 30-24 advantage in the all-time series between the two teams. Most recently, the Gulls topped the Golden Bears on Thursday at North Field, 9-5, in the CCC Tournament.
• The Gulls feature the top pitching staff and defense in all of Division III heading into Saturday's matchup. They rank first in the NCAA in ERA (2.64), WHIP (1.08), and fielding percentage (.981).
• The Golden Bears are averaging 11.4 runs per game with a 4-1 record in the CCC Tournament. Shortstop John Bova (Trumbull, Conn.) leads the offense with a slash line of .600 AVG / .643 OBP / .840 SLG, a home run, 15 hits, and 11 RBI in the five game stretch.
• Endicott leads all CCC offenses with 43 home runs, 345 RBI, 110 stolen bases, .446 OBP, .487 SLG, and 388 runs.
• Western New England last appeared in the CCC Championship in 2022, and suffered a 4-1 defeat to the Gulls. 

WHAT'S NEXT

The last team remaining after Saturday will be named the 2024 CCC Baseball Tournament Champion and earn the league's automatic qualifier into the 2024 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.
