EASTLAKE, Ohio — The No. 9/11 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team kicks off its fourth consecutive trip to the College World Seriew (CWS) with a matchup against third-seeded No. 6/8 Salisbury this Friday night at 8:30 PM ET. Here's an inside look at the Gulls' upcoming tournament campaign.
FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- Endicott and Salisbury each feature some of the premiere pitching staffs in Division III. The two teams enter the tournament with the best overall pitching numbers out of the remaining field of eight. Endicott enters the CWS ranked first in DIII in WHIP (1.14) and fifth in ERA (3.36), while the Seagulls currently rank third in WHIP (1.19) and second in ERA (2.83).
- Endicott is the first program to make the DIII CWS in four straight seasons (2023-2026) since Chapman in 2005-09. The Gulls also hold the longest active CWS streak throughout all of NCAA baseball (Divisions I-III).
- The opening round of the CWS is a repeat of NCAA Regionals format (four teams in two pods; double elimination format). The champion of each four-team pod advances to a best of three head-to-head series, similar to the Super Regionals format.
- The other two teams in Endicott and Salisbury's pod are second-seeded No. 4/5 Rowan and seventh-seeded No. 16/18 Adrian.
- The Gulls and Seagulls baseball programs have never met previously. However, each have appeared in recent College World Series'. Salisbury was the national champion in 2021, while Endicott has been to each of the last four College World Series', and has advanced as far as the national semifinals (2025).
