Hockey ties Central Connecticut 3-3

Hamilton, Mass. – The Endicott men’s hockey team scored twice in the opening five minutes but was forced to rally from a goal down in the third period to grab a 3-3 tie with Central Connecticut State on Saturday night. The Gulls are still in search of their first win and currently stand at 0-1-2.
The Blue and Green tallied goals at 16:47 and 15:10 of the first period to take an early 2-0 lead. Central Connecticut stormed back with three unanswered goals before Endicott netted the equalizer with less than five minutes remaining in the game.
Senior captain \#Drew Bowden\# (Cumberland, Maine) opened the scoring less than four minutes in with a short-handed goal. Sophomores \#Garrett Moore\# (Sudbury, Mass.) and \#Adam Rayho\# (Succasunna, N.J.) assisted on the play.
Less than two minutes later, Andrew Richardson (Lancaster, Mass.) and John Egan (Plainville, Conn.) found Moore to double the lead. The goal came just five seconds into a power play opportunity for the Gulls.
Central Connecticut cut the lead in half before the first intermission with a goal at 1:48.
Both teams were held in check in the second period before tallying three goals in the third period.
Central Connecticut quickly tied the game with an even-strength goal at 18:31. Minutes later, the Blue Devils’ Ryan Pereira put the visitors on top, 3-2.
At 4:52, a trio of Endicott freshman connected to knot the game at three. \#Tad Gold\# (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) and \#Cameron MacLeod\# (Hampton Falls, N.H.) hit \#Ryan Pratt\# (Waltham, Mass.) late in the third period.
Neither team could net the game winner in the overtime period as both teams settled for the tie.
The Gulls return to the ice on Wednesday when they travel to Boston for the first of two straight against Northeastern University.
