Gulls stay hot, win third straight

Hamilton, Mass. – The Endicott men’s hockey team used a four-goal second period to cruise past visiting Marist College, 7-2, on Saturday night. The win was the third straight for the Blue and Green, who improve to 5-4-2 overall.
The all-freshman line of \#Ryan Pratt\# (Waltham, Mass.), \#Tad Gold\# (Vineyard Haven, Mass.), and \#Cameron MacLeod\# (Hampton Falls, N.H.) put the hosts on the board midway through the first period. Marist leveled the game at one with just under six minutes remaining in the period on a goal by Pat Brown (Rockaway, N.Y.).
At 1:35, Gold found sophomore forward \#Garrett Moore\# (Sudbury, Mass.) to put Endicott on top 2-1 at the first intermission.
The Gulls exploded for four unanswered goals in the second period for an insurmountable lead.
At 16:00, senior captain \#Drew Bowden\# (Cumberland, Maine) made it 3-1 after feeds from junior forward \#Kevin Bunting\# (Plantsville, Conn.) and classmate \#Jeffrey Breault\# (Blackstone, Mass.).
MacLeod joined the scoring five minutes later thanks to another assist by classmate Gold.
\#Andrew Richardson\# (Lancaster, Mass.) hooked up with Breault less than one minute later to put the Gulls up 5-1.
Junior forward \#Mathew Zimmerman\# (South Glastonbury, Conn.) capped the second period scoring at 8:28. Sophomore forward \#Travis Dion\# (Saco, Maine) and Breault picked up assists on the play.
Marist opened the final period with Brown’s second goal of the night. Endicott’s \#Kevin Bunting\# (Plantsville, Conn.) scored the final goal of the night midway through the third period on assists by \#Rob DiNicola\# (Wolcott, Conn.) and Bowden.
\#Mark Airoldi\# (Kennebunk, Maine) logged all 60 minutes between the pipes for the Gulls to pick up the win. Endicott chased Marist goalie Justin Frei (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) out midway through the second period after allowing five goals.
The Blue and Green look to make it four in a row this Friday (Nov. 5) when they travel to Manchester, N.H. for a 7:00 pm showdown with St. Anselm College.
