Three Different Gulls Score In Victory Over UNH

HAMILTON, Mass. – The Endicott men's club ice hockey team earned their fifth win on the season in a 4-2 victory over the University of New Hampshire this past Saturday. Four different Gulls scored in the contest while seniors Cameron MacLeod (Hampton Falls, N.H.), Ryan Pratt (Waltham, Mass.) and Tad Gold (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) each tallied three points. Endicott is now 5-1 overall this season.

The first period was a battle of both squads as each worked hard to find the back of the net.  At 12:19 the Blue and Green got on the board first after Gold and Rand made a good combination play on a power play opportunity to find Pratt who slipped the puck past freshman goaltender Dylan Palmer (North Hampton, N.H.) to finish the first period with the 1 goal advantage.

The second period was quiet for the Wildcats and the Gulls as neither could find the goal until the final 13 seconds. The Wildcats tied up the game in the final seconds as senior Rich Flocco (Robinsville, N.J.) controlled the play from freshmans Max Turcotte (Holliston, Mass.) and Austin Sprague (Manchester, N.H.) to get the puck past freshman goaltender Nick Russo (Waltham, Mass.) off a power play to enter the second intermission even with the Blue and Green.

The third period held much action from both sides. Endicott's freshman Tyler Peabody took back the lead at 17:06 after he controlled a feed from Rand and blasted the puck past Palmer to go up 2-1. Ten minutes later UNH answered back to keep them in the game as sophomore Dan Groark (Saugus, Mass.) took the puck solo and snuck it into the back of the net to tie the game back up.

Three minutes later Gold scored the game winning goal after MacLeod and Pratt worked to find him the puck in front of the net. In the final 50 seconds of regulation MacLeod and Russo made a nice combination play as MacLeod nailed the insurance goal to give the Gulls the 4-2 victory over the Wildcats.

Endicott will look ahead to Saturday, November 2^nd as they host Central Connecticut State at 7:30 p.m. The Blue and Green saw the Blue Devils in the second week of competition where they suffered their first and only loss thus far in 2013-14.
