Endicott Rides to Blue Ribbon Finish
March 26, 2007
Stoughton, MA - The Endicott College equestrian team over-powered the rest of the Region with six first place winners, four second places and three third place finishers to take the High Point School ribbon in a show hosted by Stonehill and Wheaton Colleges at Drywater Farm in Stoughton on Sunday.
Alisha Phipps (Cotuit, MA) pointed out with her seven first place points, enough to move up to the Novice Division and qualifying for Regional Finals on April 1. Freshman Novice rider Casey Lake (Milton, MA) won both of her flat and over fences classes but lost out in a 3-way ride-off for the show's high point rider.
The Gulls will next compete on Saturday March 31 at Lane's End Farm in Danvers, in a show hosted by UMass Lowell, Harvard University and Bridgewater State College.
The following day, April 1, Endicott will host the Regional Finals at Springtide Farm. EC has qualified three riders for the event, Chelsea Conant (Novice flat and fences), Bethany Prussman (Novice Flat and Fences) and Alisha Phipps (Walk-trot-canter). Riders finishing first and second in their class will move on to the Zone finals.
