Eagan ECAC's DIII North Defensive Player of the Year; Rushe an All-Star

Centerville, Mass. – The Eastern College Athletic Conferene (ECAC) named its yearly football All-Stars and Endicott’s own junior defensive lineman Kevin Eagan (West Hartford, Conn.) was tabbed the Division III North Defensive Player of the Year. Freshman kicker Dylan Rushe (Palos Verdes, Calif.) also earned a spot on the Special Teams All-Star squad.
Eagan’s award capped off a long list of accolades earned following a stellar 2010 performance that helped catapult the Gulls football team into their first New England Football Conference (NEFC) Championship and first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history. Eagan’s highlights included 94 tackles (45 solo), 18.0 tackles for a loss including eight sacks, six pass break ups, two forced fumbles, one recovery, and a blocked kick.
The junior also won the NEFC Boyd Division Defensive Player of the Year award, a New England Football Writers Association DII/III All-Star, and a D3Football.com All-East Region Second Team member.
Rushe also was recognized for his impressive rookie campaign that featured kicking for 81 points on 14-of-19 field goal attempts and a perfect 39-of-39 for extra points. His longest kick was a 44-yard attempt and made 2-of-3 from at least 40 yards. Rushe was named NEFC First Team and D3Football.com All-East Region First Team to go along with his ECAC DIII North All-Star nod.
