BEVERLY, Mass. - The Beyond College Sports Network recognized Endicott senior wide receiver Mike Murphy (Chelmsford, Mass.) in their weekly national players of the week column for his outstanding performance in a 61-15 Gulls victory over UMass Dartmouth over the weekend.
Murphy broke his own school record for receiving yards in a game after hauling in 12 catches for 210 yards on the road at UMass Dartmouth. The previous record of 202 set on October 1st, 2011 by Murphy in a 55-7 rout at Curry. Murphy had touchdown receptions of 45 yards and 47 yards and his 12 receptions tied 2012 graduate Mike Fimiani's record set on October 29th, 2011 at Western New England.
Murphy now has 38 catches for 579 yards (15.2 yards per reception) with seven touchdowns on the season.
Endicott hosts NEFC Boyd Division rival Western New England on Saturday evening at 5:00 pm at Endicott Stadium. The Gulls are 6-2 (4-1 NEFC Boyd) while the Golden Bears are 5-3 (3-2 NEFC Boyd) and are coming off a 23-3 road win over Plymouth State.
