BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott freshmen football student-athletes Sam Opont (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Anthony Whiteley (Pittsfield, Mass.) have both earned Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) weekly honors, as announced by the league yesterday. Opont was named the conference's Defensive Rookie of the Week, while Whiteley picked up Offensive Rookie of the Week accolades.
In their respective collegiate debuts against Framingham State last Saturday, Opont compiled five tackles (two solo, three assisted), while Whiteley collected 100 all-purpose yards on four catches (67 yards), three rushes (21 yards) and one kickoff return (12 yards) to earn this week's awards.
Endicott (0-1) travels to Bridgewater State University this Saturday for a non-conference matchup at 12 PM.

Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) is a single-sport football conference operating under the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) umbrella. The league has been in operation since 1965 (formerly as the New England Football Conference (NEFC)). The league currently consists of six members – Becker, Curry, Endicott, Nichols, Salve Regina, and Western New England. Membership will increase to seven in 2018 with the addition of the University of New England. Husson will join the conference in 2019.
