Aylward, Russell Claim CCC Football Weekly Awards

CCC RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott student-athletes Shane Aylward (Tewksbury, Mass.) and Tim Russell (Stoneham, Mass.) have earned Commonwealth Coast Football (CCC Football) weekly awards, as announced by the league office earlier today.

Aylward received his fourth career Offensive Rookie of the Week honor, while Russell garnered his third career Defensive Player of the Week award.

In last Saturday's game against Husson, Aylward notched nine catches for 72 yards and a touchdown in the 24-17 victory for the Gulls. His 16-yard touchdown catch with 15 seconds remaining in the third quarter would eventually prove to be the difference in the contest. He also ran once, picking up four yards on the ground and had 75 total return yards on punts.

Meanwhile, Russell tied his career-high for tackles with 13 total (nine solo, four assisted). Among his 13 stops were 1.5 tackles for loss. He also had an interception late in the first half. It was his fifth career pick.

Endicott (6-1, 3-0 CCC Football) travels to Salve Regina on Saturday, October 23 at 12 PM.
