BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott defensive lineman Hector Johnson '24 (Worcester, Mass.) has been invited to the New England Patriots Rookie Minicamp, which begins on May 9.
"We are very excited for Hector, and this opportunity to see him chase his dream of playing in the NFL," said Endicott football head coach Paul McGonagle. "We can't wait to watch him compete at the highest level."
This past season, Johnson compiled 37 tackles (19 solo, 18 assisted), 5.0 sacks (61 yards), 10.5 tackles for a loss (76 yards), one fumble recovery, and eight quarterback hurries in 10 games played.
He anchored the No. 1 defense in the Conference of New England (CNE) as the Gulls allowed a league-low 11.3 points per game, 250.8 yards per game, 4.0 average yards per play, and tallied a league-best 21 sacks.
Johnson's career accolades include two conference Defensive Player of the Year and Defensive Lineman of the Year awards, eight All-Region honors, three All-Conference First Team selections, and one Preseason All-America nod.
He was also named a Cliff Harris Award and Gagliardi Trophy nominee in 2022, among many other accolades.
In 44 games played, Johnson compiled 175 tackles (87 solo), 44.0 tackles for a loss, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one block, 31 quarterback hurries, and 24.5 sacks (22 solo).
He ranks first all-time in yards from sacks (184) and second in quarterback sacks.
