Muhlenberg Outlasts Endicott, 28-20
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott football team fell to Muhlenberg, 28-20, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon at Hempstead Stadium.
Freshman running back Bryan Ferreira (Woburn, Mass.) highlighted the offense with two rushing touchdowns on 10 attempts (49 yards).
Both of his touchdowns cut the Gulls' deficit within one score in the third (0:33, 10 yards, 20-14) and fourth quarters (8:16, 1 yard, 28-20), respectively.
Bryan Metayer (Norwood, Mass.) also found paydirt in the first (6:55) with a one-yard plunge to make it 7-7.
Following Metayer's game-tying TD, the Mules outscored Endicott 13-0 heading into halftime (20-7).
Muhlenberg struck for a 46-yard passing TD near the end of the first (1:43, 8 plays, 70 yards, 5:06 elapsed) and tacked on to its lead early in the second with a 13-yard TD through the air (12:38, 6 plays, 63 yards, 2:46 elapsed).
In the fourth, Muhlenberg answered Ferreira's first of two touchdowns on the day with a 12-yard strike through the air, and a successful two-point conversion, to make it a two-score matchup (28-20) with 12:05 remaining (6 plays, 65 yards, 3:28 elapsed).
Endicott's defense gave the hosts a chance to complete a game-tying drive with 4:54 on the clock, but Muhlenberg held tough when it mattered most, forcing a turnover on downs at its own five-yard line on a 4th-and-1 rushing attempt (4-yard loss).

- Jayson Little (Natick, Mass.) produced career-highs in receptions (5) and receiving yards (74).

- Second straight game with double-digit tackles for Fleming.
- Brian Daly (Franklin Square, N.Y.) blocked his first career extra point on Muhlenberg's second touchdown in the first quarter.
- The Mules snapped Endicott's six-game home winning streak.

Endicott (1-1) hosts Maritime (N.Y.) on Saturday, September 20 at 12 PM. Muhlenberg (2-0) travels to Wilkes next Saturday at 12 PM.
