Gulls Lose in Opener to Springfield, 4-1

In the season opener against Springfield College the Endicott field hockey team was defeated 4-1 at SC's Benedum Field yesterday. The Gulls played tough defense against Springfield holding them to a 0-0 match up at the half. Springfield turned up the pressure, scoring all four goals, in the second half. Sophomore Lyndsay Woods scored EC's loan goal on a penalty corner assited by KD Balentine and Kim Doody in the second half. Sophomore goal keeper Erin Curry tallied eleven saves for the Gulls The Gulls play in their second game of the Zenaty Invitational Tournament today against Eastern Connecticut at 11 am.
