Eastern Conn Defeats Gulls in Overtime Penalty Strokes

The EC Gulls were defeated by Eastern Connecticut Sunday September 5th in the Zenaty Invitational at Springfield College. Eastern Conn took the lead early in the first half, but junior Ashley Wallace tied the game on a penalty corner. Before the end of the first half senior Jen McCormick pushed the Gulls ahead with a goal assisted by Wallace. The Gulls had a 2-1 lead going into the second half. Sophomore Lyndsay Woods tallied her second goal of the season in the second half of the game. Eastern Connecticut fought back, scoring two fast goals against the Gulls defense forcing the game into overtime. After two overtime periods, seven aside, the Gulls fell to Eastern Connecticut in a penalty stroke shoot out. Endicott's goal keeper Erin Curry made seven saves. Endicott will play Wheaton College on Tuesday in Norton, MA at 4:30pm.
