McBride's Overtime Goal Stings AIC

SPRINGFIELD, MA - Endicott midfielder Megan McBride's (Saugus, Mass.) overtime goal lifted the Gulls past host AIC, 2-1, Tuesday afternoon in non-conference field hockey action in Springfield.
Junior goalie Cindy Armand (Danvers, Mass.) stopped 14 shots and sophomore Jacki Lapointe (Danvers, Mass.) scored a goal but it wasn't enough to lead the Yellow Jackets past Endicott The win improves Endicott to 3-2 on the season and the loss drops AIC to 1-2 overall.
Endicott started the scoring early (1:48) when senior Lindsay Fallon (Southampton, N.Y.) took a feed off of a pass from the corner from junior Jennifer Rheaume (Blackstone, Mass.), giving the Gulls a 1-0 lead. A majority of the first half was played in Endicott territory but the Yellow Jackets were unable to put anything past Endicott goalie senior Erin Curry (Hampstead, N.H.).
Endicott held onto the 1-0 lead until 49:49 in the second half when Lapointe took a pass from the Yellow Jacket's all-time leader in assists, junior Jamie Anderson (North Attleboro, Mass.) and found the back of the goal.
Four minutes into overtime, Endicott would capture the win when a scramble in front of the net led to a goal from the freshman McBride.
Curry made eight saves for Endicott, as the Gulls outshot the Yellow Jackets 22-9 on the afternoon.
