Field hockey vs St. Joseph's (ME) cancelled late in the first half

BEVERLY, Mass. - Heavy rains and lightning rolled through Endicott's North Field on Thursday evening, causing the Gulls field hockey game against non-conference opponent St. Joseph's (ME) to be halted late in the first half. Play did not resume as the weather continued to worsen and the game was cancelled with 11:13 remaining in the first half.
The Monks held a 1-0 lead on a goal by freshman Tara Cowin (Newry, Maine) as she collected her own rebound on her first shot and beat the keeper to the back of the cage.
Statistics will not count in this one as the game was called in the first half. If the game is rescheduled, the teams will start over with a 0-0 score.
Endicott's next game will be on Saturday, October 1st at 5:00 pm against CCC foe Salve Regina in Middletown, R.I. (Gaudet Field). St. Joseph's hosts UMaine Farmington in North Atlantic Conference actionat 12:00 pm.
