No. 8 Field Hockey Handles New England College, 4-0
HENNIKER, N.H. – The No. 8 Endicott field hockey took control of the game in the first quarter and never looked back as they defeated New England College, 4-0 on Tuesday night at Don Melander Field.
Reagan Hicks (Barnstable, Mass.) got the scoring started for the Gulls with 6:36 left in the first quarter as she potted home a rebound opportunity for her 20th tally of the season. Riley Perkins (Lakeville, Mass.) doubled the lead in the first quarter with a blast from the right side of the circle following a Lily Johnson (Paxton, Mass.) feed.
The Blue and Green led 2-0 for much of the second quarter until Maddy Dengler (Winchester, Mass.) tapped home the third goal for Endicott with less than two minutes to play before halftime as Hicks found her fellow senior on the back post to pick up the assist.
Then late in third quarter, Hicks picked up a loose ball and beat a Pilgrim defender as she found Dengler again to make it 4-0 heading to the fourth quarter. Over the final 15 minutes, Endicott controlled the play as they outshot the hosts 5-0 and picked up the road victory.
Faith Minickene (Madison, Conn.) played all 60 minutes and improves to 17-1 this season.
