Starters combine for 50 points in Endicott victory over Salve Regina

NEWPORT, RI - The Endicott College men's basketball team had four starters hit double digits as the Gulls dispatched Salve Regina, 66-46, Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Coast Conference action.
Senior forward Matt George (Dover, NH/Dover) dropped in a game-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting (3-of-4 from three-point land) to go along with four assists and a block for the Gulls while junior forward Nemanja Marinkovic (Belgrade, Serbia & Montenegro/second Baptist School, TX) shot 60 percent from the field in recording 14 points with nine rebounds and five steals.
Endicott won its second straight to improve to 6-5 overall and 3-0 in the CCC while Salve fell to 8-6 overall (2-4 CCC).
Sophomore point guard Todd Burton (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) scored 12 points in the victory and senior guard Zach Ellis (Westford, MA/Westford Academy) dropped in 11 points, including three three-pointers. Junior forward Mike Sullivan (Marshfield, MA/Marshfield) added eight points and eight rebounds.
Endicott shot 43 percent from the field and 44 percent from beyond the arc and enjoyed a 38-22 cushion at the break. The visitors also owned a 43-29 rebounding advantage in winning their second straight contest after the break.
The Gulls will travel to the University of New England Tuesday night (8) for another CCC contest.
