No. 14 Men's Basketball Outlasts Roger Williams On Senior Day, 81-65
BEVERLY, Mass. — The No. 14 nationally ranked Endicott men's basketball team knocked off Roger Williams, 81-65, in Saturday afternoon's Conference of New England (CNE) regular season finale from MacDonald Gymnasium.
Prior to the game, the Gulls honored the legacy of eight graduating members of the 2026 class. Wilson Bennett (Sag Harbor, N.Y.), Matt Boen (Mansfield, Mass.), Max Grenert (Beverly, Mass.), Jeff Hill (Lynn, Mass.), Cam Keliher (South Hampton, N.H.), Carter Koenig (Glen Ridge, N.J.), Jack Lewis (Clinton, Mass.), and Marcus Montagnino (Gloucester, Mass.) were recognized for their collective contributions to the Endicott men's basketball program.
Elijah Kinney (Nashville, Tenn.) led all scorers with 26 points (11-17 FG, 3-3 3PT, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, two assists, and a block in 27 minutes of action, while Montagnino finished right behind him in the scoring column with 25 points (10-17 FG, 2-2 3PT, 3-7 FT), 16 rebounds, four dimes and two steals.
Caden Sullivan (Franklin, Mass.) was the only other Gull in double-digits (11 points, 4-10 FG, 2-5 3 PT, 1-1 FT), and also logged nine boards.
After a back-and-forth first 10 minutes that (six lead changes), the Gulls ended the half on a 23-15 charge to head into halftime with a 38-31 lead.
Early in the second half, the Hawks closed the gap to just three points (38-35). However, the Blue and Green escaped for a 13-3 run from the 17:34-13:48 marks to go up by double-digits (51-38). Kinney ignited the spurt with 11 of the 13 points along the stretch.
The Hawks once again inched back into the contest, as the score stood at 65-61 with 6:20 remaining.
Two clutch triples from Sullivan, a Kinney tip-in, and a tough layup from Montagnino put the Gulls back up 12 (75-63) with 3:36 on the clock, and from there, the Hawks were held at bay the rest of the way, with Endicott going on to win the game by an 81-65 final score.
