BREWSTER, MA - The Endicott Men's Golf Team ended its fall season by finishing 12th at the NEIGA Annual Golf Tournament at The Captain's Golf Club, Brewster, MA.
The conditions were a factor once again this year for the tournament. There was an hour delay after heavy morning rains held off the start of play for the first round. The weather finally improved by mid-afternoon but scores were higher than normal due to conditions.
Endicott shot a 335 as a team after the first round. Freshman Peter Weatherby (Portsmouth, RI) led the team after the first round with a score of 81. He was followed by senior captain Alex Lawner (Hollis, NH), who shot 82. Freshman Garett Seney (Bow, NH) and Drew Sullivan (Katonah, NY) both shot 86.
The team improved their score total for the second round on Tuesday but the conditions remained tough with strong winds and very cool temperatures.
The team improved its total score to 329 on Monday with Sullivan leading the way with a score of 78 and team leading two day total of 164. Nick Turzcak (Housatonic, MA) turned things around and shot 83 while Lawner and Seney both scored 84 and Weatherby shot 86. Endicott finished 12th in the Division III pairings of 20 teams.
