2016 Men's Golf Season Preview

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott golf team begins its 2016 season this Saturday on the road at the Bowdoin Invitational. Here's a preview of the upcoming season.

RETURNING CAST (ROSTER): The Gulls return a bevy of leadership with seven returners including a trio of sophomore captains in Athan Goulos (Peabody, Mass.), Drew Benshoff (Concord, Mass.) and Ben Palazzo (Farmongton, Conn.). Alongside Goulos, Benshoff and Palazzo, the Gulls welcome back sophomore Christopher Billings (Topsham, Maine), junior Hunter Donovan (Loudonville, N.Y.), sophomore Carter Knox (Hinesburg, V.T.) and senior Dan Negus (Pembroke, Mass.). This group will be tasked with leading and also making major contributions towards the program as they kick off the 2016 season.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR (SCHEDULE): After their season opener at the Bowdoin Invitational this weekend, the Gulls will travel to Chicopee, Mass. for the Blazer Invitational (9/17-9/18), which will be followed by the UNE Invitational (9/22), and the Husson Invitational (9/24-9/25) before heading into the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Championship Qualifier on October 4th.

2015 YEAR IN REVIEW: Led by Austin Teal's (Loudonville, N.Y.) medalist showing at the CCC Championship, Endicott fell three strokes shy of the title to finish as runner-up for the second season in a row. For the second straight season, both Teal and head coach Tom Smith were named CCC Player and Coach of the Year, respectively, last season. The pair led the way for four total All-CCC accolades (Benshoff - first team; Negus - second team) as announced by the Office of the Commissioner.
