Men’s Golf Places Fourth At Hartford Invitational
HARTFORD, Conn. — The Endicott men's golf team tied for fourth place overall out of nine programs at the Hartford Invitational on Monday evening, hosted at the Wampanoag CC (par 72 — 6,629 yards).
Hartford took home top honors, shooting +4, while Salem State (+24), Rhode Island College (+26), Endicott (+31), the University of New England (+31), Albertus Magnus (+32), Western Connecticut State (+35), Southern Maine CC (+37), and Keene State (+40) followed suit on the team leaderboard.
Individually, sophomore Sam Betz (Bowdoin, Maine) led the Gulls in their final tournament of the 2025-26 campaign, carding a 76 (40-36) to rank 10th overall among the 48-player field.
Connor LaCross (Upton, Mass.) followed in 15th place (+6, 40-38), while Oliver Watson (New Paltz, N.Y.) and Trevor Hislop (Newtown, Conn.) rounded out the scoring lineup (23rd, +8, 39-41 | 35th, +13, 42-43).
John Hallisey (Windham, N.H.) also placed 38th overall (+14, 44-42).
BEYOND THE SCORECARD
- Betz birdied three holes (5-6-11) and shot par on 10 more, including the last five in a row on the back nine.
- Endicott ranked second on par 5s (4.75 average, -5).
- LaCross was third in the tournament with 12 total pars made.
YEAR IN REVIEW
Endicott ranked second overall at the Conference of New England (CNE) Championship and third overall at the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship.
Individually, Myles O'Quinn (Durham, N.H.) tied for medalist honors at the Bowdoin Invitational and finished second at the CNE Championship, earning CNE All-Conference First Team accolades for his performance.
Senior Hadyn Kornusky (Topsfield, Mass.) also claimed CNE All-Conference Second Team honors behind a sixth place finish at the championship, while LaCross ranked second overall at the NEIGA Championship, rounding out the Gulls' individual efforts on the year.
