Kurapov Named Joe Concannon Award Semifinalist

BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott men's ice hockey junior forward Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) has been named a semifinalist for the 22nd Joe Concannon Award. The award is presented annually to the best America-born NCAA Division II/III college hockey student-athlete in New England.

The Joe Concannon Award was established in 2001 shortly after the passing of the longtime writer for The Boston Globe who had a great passion for the game of college hockey while always advocating strongly for amateur athletics.

Kurapov was one of 33 student-athletes across all Division II/III New England men's ice hockey programs chosen as a semifinalist for the award. He also is the 13th overall selection in program history.

Last season, former Gulls' All-American goaltender Conor O'Brien (Pinellas Park, Fla.) was named the co-winner of the Joe Concannon Award along with Babson College senior forward Ryan Black (Pomfret, Conn.).

ANDREW KURAPOV'S 2022-23 SEASON

In 21 games played, Kurapov has compiled 11 goals (1 PP, 2 GWG) and 16 assists for 27 points.

The junior forward currently ranks inside the top-10 in all three categories among his Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) peers. 

He also is +16 for the No. 3 nationally ranked team Gulls who rank first in the league in power play percentage (29.2%), penalty kill percentage (90.6%), and goals against average (1.35).

Individually, Kurapov has registered a team-leading 10 points on the power play (1g, 9a).
