CCC SEMIFINALS: Bowes, Strawn Propel No. 4 Gulls Past Salve Regina, 5-4

BEVERLY, Mass. — Behind a four-goal effort from Cass Bowes (Sturgeon County, Albert), the No. 4 nationally ranked Endicott men's ice hockey team defeated Salve Regina, 5-4, in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Semifinals on Saturday evening at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.

Noah Strawn (Wareham, Mass.) finished off the victory with a second-chance effort at the doorstep with 1:30 remaining in regulation on feeds from Jack Ring (Guilford, Conn.) and Connor Amsley (Carlisle, Pa.).

The Gulls trailed 4-2 in the third period with less than seven minutes to play, but never wavered as Bowes buried back-to-back tallies (14:43, 18:00) prior to Strawn's heroics.

Bowes also scored twice in the first period at 4:24 and 16:41, respectively.

In goal, Atticus Kelly (St. Paul, Minn.) stopped 21 shots to improve to 11-0-2 on the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

• Bowes' career-high four-goal day ranks tied for second all-time in a single game (5, James Winkler, Becker, 1/25/2020).
• His four tallies are the most goals scored by a student-athlete in a single game in CCC men's ice hockey playoff history.
• Strawn potted his sixth career game-winner (third this season).
• Endicott improved to 11-9-0 all-time against Salve Regina.
• The Gulls are 11-1-1 at home this season.

WHAT'S NEXT

No. 4 nationally ranked Endicott (21-2-2) will host No. 6 nationally ranked Curry in the CCC Championship on Saturday, March 4 (time TBD).

Salve Regina sees its 2022-23 campaign come to a close at 15-10-1 overall.
