Three Gulls Named Joe Concannon Award Semifinalists
BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott College men's ice hockey student-athletes Louie Kamienski (Elmhurst, Ill.), Sebastian Speck (Dryden, Mich.), and Peter Sterling (Manassas, Va.) have been named semifinalists for the 25th Joe Concannon Award — presented annually to the best America-born NCAA Division II/III college hockey student-athlete in New England.
This is the fourth time in program history that the Gulls have had three or more student-athletes named as semifinalists.
The Joe Concannon Award was established in 2001 shortly after the passing of the longtime writer for The Boston Globe, who had a great passion for the game of college hockey while always advocating strongly for amateur athletics.
LOUIE KAMIENSKI | FR. | F
In 19 games played this season, Kamienski has compiled 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points.
He also sits at plus-14 on the year with two power-play and game-winning goals.
Among his peers in the Conference of New England, Kamienski ranks sixth in goals, sixth in points, seventh in Goals Per Game, and eighth in Points Per Game.
This is Kamienski's first career Joe Concannon Award semifinalist honor.
SEBASTIAN SPECK | FR. | F
Speck has produced 19 points (6g, 13a) and a plus-17 rating in 19 games played.
The freshman forward is No. 13 in game-winning goals (3) among all D3 skaters and first in the CNE.
He also ranks inside the top-10 in the CNE for assists, points, Assists Per Game, and Plus/Minus.
The honor is the first of Speck's career.
PETER STERLING | FR. | G
For the first time in his career, Sterling has been named a Joe Concannon Award semifinalist.
Sterling has accumulated a 14-3-1 record with a .930 save percentage and 1.62 goals against average.
Across Division III, the freshman ranks inside the top-10 for goals against average, shutouts, and goalie winning percentage. He is also first in the CNE across all three categories.
With four shutouts this season, the Manassas, Va. native is tied for first in program history for most shutouts in a single season.
