Endicott starts tournament action with Gordon

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - In a season that saw the \#15-ranked Endicott men's lacrosse team lose its first regular season conference game since 2002, the Gulls look to reclaim The Commonwealth Coast Conference championship as they open TCCC tournament play as the \#2 overall seed on Tuesday. The Gulls (13-3, 8-1 TCCC) will host cross-town rival Gordon College (4-10, 4-5 TCCC) at Endicott Stadium, face-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
The Gulls downed the Fighting Scots, 9-4, in the second TCCC regular season game of the year for Endicott. Senior Eddie O'Reilly (Beverly, Mass.) paced the Gulls with a hat-trick and an assist in the victory.
No. 12 ranked Western New England College has earned the top seed for The Commonwealth Coast Conference men's lacrosse championship. The Golden Bears (13-2 overall) claimed the top seed in the conference tournament after posting a perfect 9-0 record in TCCC play. Western New England will open the tournament with a quarterfinal matchup against \#8 seed University of New England (6-9 overall, 2-7 TCCC) Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
Two other quarterfinal games are slated for Tuesday, including \#3 seed Roger Williams (11-4, 7-2) hosting \#6 seed Wentworth (6-6, 4-5) at 2:00 p.m., and \#4 seed New England College (8-6, 5-4) hosting \#5 seed Salve Regina (9-5, 5-4) at 4:00 p.m.
The quarterfinal games hosted by Endicott, Roger Williams and Western New England will be played as part of men's and women's doubleheaders.
Quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinal round on Thursday, April 30.
Tournament action culminates with the championship game on Saturday, May 2. The TCCC tournament champion will earn an automatic berth in the upcoming 2009 NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Championship.
