Tyksinski And Priest Earn CNE Weekly Awards; Tyksinski Selected To NEILA Team of the Week
BEVERLY, Mass. — Two members of the Endicott men's lacrosse team have earned Conference of New England (CNE) weekly awards, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Adam Priest (Billerica, Mass.) and Tommy Tyksinski (Guilderland, N.Y.) collected Rookie of the Week and Offensive Player of the Week honors, respectively.
For his effort, Tyksinski was also named to the The New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III Team of the Week. The Team of the Week is a new initiative this year that will recognize the best performances by student-athletes across the region.
TOMMY TYKSINSKI
Tyksinski headlined Endicott's offense as he finished with 9 points during a 2-0 week, recording eight goals and one assist. The senior finished third on the team during the week with five ground balls as well.
In Endicott's win over MIT, Tyksinski scored two goals and an assist for three points. After trailing by one at the end first quarter, the senior scored twice during a nine-goal second quarter that allowed Endicott to take an 11-5 lead to halftime.
The senior followed up against Springfield, with a career-high six goals. In Endicott's opening 3-0 run, Tyksinski found the back of the net once. He then scored twice more to help the Gulls retake an 8-7 lead heading to halftime.
In the second half, the Guilderland, N.Y. native scored another three goals all coming in a 7-1 run after the Pride cut the Gulls lead to two.
This is his second career Offensive Player of the Week award (3/19/24).
ADAM PRIEST
In Endicott's 2-0 week, Priest finished with five goals and an assist for six points. The freshman added five ground balls and caused three turnovers.
Against MIT, the Billerica, Mass. native scored his first collegiate hat-trick to go with two ground balls. Priest scored a goal during Endicott's 9-1 scoring run in the second quarter to take an 11-5 lead to halftime. He scored his second and third goals over the final four minutes to secure the road win.
Priest then stuffed the stat sheet versus Springfield with two goals, one assists for three points along with three ground balls and caused a team-high three turnovers.
This is Priest's first career Rookie of the Week award.
