Gash-Gilder Earns NCR All-America Honors
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men’s rugby graduate student Matthew Gash-Gilder (Kalispell, Mont.) has been named a National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) All-American, as announced by the organization earlier today.
BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott men's rugby graduate student Matthew Gash-Gilder (Kalispell, Mont.) has been named a National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) All-American, as announced by the organization earlier today.
Per the NCR website: the NCR Men's All-American program recognizes student-athletes who have earned the distinct honor of being top performers in the fall 2021 season. Recognition as an NCR All-American is a special honor that is reserved for the "best of the best."
Gash-Gilder was only one of three student-athletes from New England chosen to the NCR Small College All-America list out of 15 total honorees from the entire country.
He also was named to the NCR New England All-Star Team earlier this season.
YEAR IN REVIEW
Endicott, who was ranked as high as No. 3 in the country throughout the fall season, finished its 2021 campaign with a 6-1 record en route to defeating No. 14 Salve Regina in the Colonial Coast Rugby Conference (CCRC) Championship, 38-14.
From there, the Gulls advanced to the NCR Northeast Regional Championship, but, ultimately fell to No. 6 Holy Cross, 34-27, in the title game.
