NCR NATIONALS: Men’s Rugby Places Third In Shield Bracket
BOYDS, Md. — The Endicott men’s rugby team finished third overall in the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) 7s Division III Championship Shield Bracket this weekend.
BOYDS, Md. — The Endicott men's rugby team finished third overall in the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) 7s Division III Championship Shield Bracket this weekend.
The NCR 7s Collegiate Rugby Championship features a cascading bracket, which enables the organization to host a 144-team tournament in a single weekend. More info on the bracket can be found here: NCR Cascading Bracket.
On Friday, Endicott fell to Duke, 24-12, in the Cup Bracket and later lost to Nichols, 26-19, in the Bowl Bracket.
In their third match of the day, the Gulls came up short against Richmond, 29-12, in the Shield Bracket before bouncing back on Saturday in the Shield Bracket Third Place game against Wisconsin-Stout, 19-10.
MAN OF THE TOURNAMENT
Will Savage (Weymouth, Mass.) — He stood up and showed maturity beyond his years in both attack and defense over the course of the tournament. Very well deserving of this award.
