Croteau Lifts Gulls Over Curry

BEVERLY, MA - Chris Croteau's (Groveland, MA/Pentucket) first half goal powered the Gulls to a 2-0 win over Curry College on Saturday afternoon.
Croteau scored the eventual game winner in the final minutes of the first half as Brian Thopsey (Farmington, CT/Farmington) sent a cross through the Colonels penalty area that Gabriel Moraga (Marlborough, CT/RHAM) volleyed to Croteau for the goal.
Pirapong Sirikietsoong (Bankok, Thailand) would add an insurance goal for the Gulls early in the second half. Sirikietsoong found the ball at his feet inside the Curry six yard box and had his first attempt stopped by Curry goalkeeper Clark Zelazo but he followed his rebound and scored to give EC a 2-0 lead.
Two goals were all Endicott would need as the Gulls defense held their opponent scoreless. EC's back line, once again headed by Eric Booth (Belchertown, MA/Belchertown), Tyler Hardy (Hollis, NH/Hollis-Brookline) and TJ Sapienza (Milford, NH/Milford) held curry to just 12 shots and a lone corner kick.
The Gulls also got strong play from Pranam Lipinski (Adams, MA/Hoosac Valley) at midfield as he helped EC control the flow of the game. Goalkeeper Cameron Twiss (Reading, MA/Bishop Fenwick) made 11 saves to record the shutout.
The Gulls improve to 7-9 overall and 6-5 in the CCC, the win gives Endicott sole possession of fifth place in the conference. EC has one game remaining as they will take on St. Joseph's of Maine Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. The Gulls will honor their seniors prior to the game in a senior day ceremony.
