CRANSTON, R.I. — The Endicott men's soccer team defeated Johnson & Wales University, 1-0, on Wednesday evening at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletics Complex.
Jesse Martinez's (Walpole, Mass.) first goal of the season at the 45:59 mark of the contest was the difference as the Gulls' defense buckled down the rest of the way in the second half.
Endicott only allowed six shots over the final 44:01 of action, which included three saves from Jesse Haines (Villanova, Pa.) who registered his second career shutout with tonight's performance in net.
Meanwhile, Martinez potted his fourth career game-winning goal for the Gulls by slotting a through ball from Evan Couchot (Mason, Ohio) into the bottom left corner of the net past Wildcats' goalkeeper Nicholas Mancini (Toms River, N.J.).
