BEVERLY, Mass. — The Endicott men's soccer team used two late goals from Aidan Sheehan (Arlington, Mass.) and Tyler Walser (Duxbury, Mass.) to surge past Hartford, 3-1, in Saturday afternoon's Conference of New England (CNE) showdown at Hempstead Stadium.
After Conor Rooney (Monroe, Conn.) followed up his own shot and drilled his first goal of the season to put the Gulls on top 1-0 in the first half, the Hawks evened things up in the 64th minute.
Then, in the 76th minute, Sheehan cleaned up a loose ball in front of the net to put Endicott back in front.
Just a few minutes later, Liam Stapleton (Westchester, N.Y.) fired a shot that drilled the cross bar, and Walser was waiting in the box to pot the rebound, giving the Gulls some insurance in the 83rd minute.
The Blue and Green cruised the rest of the way, closing out their 3-1 home win.
