Men’s Tennis Blanks Western New England, 7-0
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — The Endicott men's tennis team defeated Western New England, 7-0, in a Conference of New England (CNE) matchup at Forest Park Tennis Courts.
The Blue and Green secured the doubles point with a strong performance from No. 1 Conrad Kadel (Heidelberg, Germany) / Aaron Terpko (Shrewsbury, Mass.), who earned a 6-1 victory, while No. 2 Antonio Marsallo (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) / Drew Benporath (South Guildford, Western Australia) followed with a 6-2 win.
In singles, the Gulls swept all six matches to seal the 7-0 victory. Kadel captured a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1, followed by Benporath at No.2 with scores of 6-4, 6-4. Then at No. 3, Eric Scalici (Essex Fells, N.J) added another point with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph.
Marsallo and Terpko took home the victories with scores of (6-0, 6-2), (6-3, 6-1).
Greg Noroian (Worcester, Mass.) won the first set (7-6), dropped the second set, and then secured the victory on a 10-point tie-breaker in the final set.
